About Man On Fire,
The Mixtape’s title “Man on fire” was inspired by the actual Denzel Washington’s movie “Man on Fire”. The plot of the movie gave me the perfect platform to explore a new sound and subject matter. Start to finish you’ll notice that “Man on Fire” is an energetic body of work. With tracks like “Chilly” to the outro’s “Shout Outs”.
I use the word energetic loosely, because my engineer Goldfinger remastered the whole project and sped up every track’s BPM to give the whole Mixtape the same energetic feel throughout. After the last song play, I think that you’ll agree when I say that the fast paced momentum and adrenaline of the whole project lives up to the title.
Straight out the gate I wanted to open up the Mixtape’s title track Man on Fire with synths and snare hits so aggressively patterned that it wakes you up like a shot of 5 Hour Energy Drink to the face! Those snare hits adds to the feel of the song and lays a great foundation for the rest of the Mixtape/Album. Every song is different, but they all have that same feel and energy intact. Man on Fire is the perfect project to work out to, just press play and you’ll run 10 miles without knowing. -MG
